Sunday Morning

This morning Bailey and I went to our favorite church, Fillmore Wesleyan, which is just barely ten minutes down the street from Houghton [by car]. Pastor Bill is one of my favorites because he is always so positive and uplifting. Last week at the end of the service I went up and he prayed with me. He's a great man and his sermons are always excellent. Lately we've been going through Acts. Today we read a passage in Acts chapter 7. I reread the passage a few times and maybe I've got in wrong because I don't remember that being part of the sermon.

But basically, Pastor Bill was talking about how the disciples of God considered it an honor to suffer in the name of their Lord, which is pretty incredible devotion when you think about it.

I brought the little leather ESV Bible to church today and you can't tell from this picture on the inside, but it says:

To Elizabeth
From Mommy and Daddy
On Christmas 2004

I can't believe I've had that Bible for eight years now- since I was only eleven years old. Pretty incredible; I didn't realize that.

I just wanted to write and tell you it's cold here, but sunny, and I am very much looking forward to being home with you this week :] Tuesday can't come soon enough. Love and kisses to you both and Holly. xoxoxox

[We also had a lovely time with ElizaBeth and Carl but I'm sure Auntie Jean can tell you all about that.]
